Analysis For Nifty & Bank Nifty — 25 August 2026 by Vinayak Bhatt

Astrology & Finance

Today is expiry day, so I am not expecting an easy one-sided market. The chart itself is giving contradictory signals, and that is exactly why today can become an interesting practical lesson (Analysis For Nifty & Bank Nifty) in Stock Market Astrology.

My broad expectation is this: the market may first confuse traders, then establish a direction, and later again become two-sided as expiry takes control. So today I am more interested in the timing of the move than simply saying bullish or bearish.

Mercury + Ketu in Leo: A Key Market Signal

The strongest combination in today’s chart is Mercury + Ketu in Leo in Maghā Nakshatra. They are extremely close — Mercury at 5°03′ and Ketu at 5°27′.

For Leo Lagna, Mercury controls the 2nd and 11th houses — money, prices, liquidity, gains and market participation. Now this Mercury is sitting with Ketu. Ketu cuts, separates and creates discontinuity.

In market language, this can show false signals, sudden breaks, confusing price discovery and movements that do not initially make logical sense.

Mercury is also very close to the Sun. So information, price and market intelligence are coming under both Sun and Ketu. This is one reason I am not willing to trust the first market move blindly today.

Also notice that Sun, Mercury and Ketu are all in Maghā, while Rahu sits exactly opposite them in Aquarius. Maghā represents authority, control and established power, while Rahu represents disruption, crowd psychology and exaggeration.

On an expiry day, this can easily create a situation where one side tries to establish control while the other side keeps disturbing that control.

Moon in Capricorn and the Vargottama Factor

Now look at the Moon. Moon is at 2°16′ Capricorn in Uttara Ashadha Pada 2, and most importantly, Moon is Vargottama — Capricorn in both D1 and Navamsha.

For Leo Lagna, Moon is the 12th lord sitting in the 6th house. The 12th represents loss, exits and liquidation; the 6th represents struggle, competition and defeating the opponent.

This creates an interesting reversal principle: loss can itself become the reason for recovery.

So selling pressure does not automatically mean selling will continue throughout the session.

Moon is also under pressure from Mars. Mars from Gemini gives its 8th aspect to Moon, and Mars is placed in Ārdrā. Ārdrā carries the symbolism of storm, disturbance and clearing after turbulence.

Mars activating the Moon from Ārdrā can produce emotional and fast price movement. But at the same time, exalted Jupiter from Cancer aspects the Capricorn Moon.

So Mars is agitating the Moon while Jupiter is protecting and stabilising it. This is exactly the kind of contradiction that can create a two-sided market.

Mars, Jupiter, Ketu, Mercury, Rahu and Sun

Mars says: move aggressively.

Jupiter says: absorb and stabilise.

Ketu says: break the pattern.

Mercury says: react to information.

Rahu says: exaggerate.

Sun says: establish control.

Therefore, instead of saying simply “market bullish” or “market bearish,” my reading is: today is more likely to reward timing than directional bias.

Jupiter’s Role in Today’s Chart

Another important factor is Jupiter itself. Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, but placed in the 12th house.

So protection exists, but it may come after fear, loss or liquidation, rather than giving a smooth bullish move from the beginning.

This is why I will carefully watch 9:45 AM to 10:10 AM.

Whatever genuine trend starts establishing itself during this period may remain effective for approximately the next two hours.

But remember the Mercury-Ketu warning: do not confuse the first move with the real move.

Important Intraday Time Windows

After that directional phase, I expect the market to become more mixed, two-sided or enter consolidation.

The next important period in my calculations comes between 1:00 PM and 2:19 PM. I will watch this period for another change in market behaviour or establishment of the second important intraday trend.

And then comes the interesting part: after 2:23 PM.

By then, option positioning, square-offs, rapid hedging and expiry mechanics can start dominating normal market behaviour.

So my working Jyotish hypothesis for today is:

  • Opening phase: Confusion or price discovery
  • 9:45–10:10 AM: Watch for the real direction
  • Following two hours: Better possibility of continuation
  • Later: Two-sided movement or consolidation
  • 1:00–2:19 PM: Second important trend window
  • After 2:23 PM: Expiry behaviour may dominate

An Important Financial Astrology Lesson

There is also one important Jyotish lesson in today’s chart.

Many students are taught:

Jupiter = rise
Saturn = fall
Mars = volatility

Financial Astrology cannot be studied like this.

Today Jupiter is protecting the Moon while Mars attacks the same Moon. Mercury, lord of money and gains, is almost exactly joined Ketu. Rahu opposes the entire Leo concentration. Moon is Vargottama. Jupiter is powerful but placed in the 12th.

So which single planet will you call bullish or bearish?

You cannot.

The market is created by the conversation between the Grahas, not by one Graha alone.

Before 9:45 AM, Make Your Prediction

Before 9:45 AM, write your expectation in the comments:

A — Fall first, then recovery
B — Rise first, then fall
C — Clear one-sided trend
D — Both sides will trap traders

I have given my astrological logic before the result. At market close, we will come back to the same post and see what actually happened — what worked, what failed and which Graha actually dominated the day.

Rule → Prediction → Market → Verification.

Educational Jyotish analysis only. This is not a buy/sell recommendation.
