Program Highlights

Ganesh Chaturthi Puja 2026

ॐ नमस्ते गणपतये ।
त्वमेव प्रत्यक्षं तत्त्वमसि ॥

The Gaṇapati Atharvaśīrṣa does not begin by asking Gaṇeśa merely to remove a difficulty.

It begins with Tattva.

“Tvameva Pratyakṣaṁ Tattvamasi” — You are that Reality which can be directly experienced.

This one statement changes the way a serious student should approach Gaṇapati.

Gaṇapati is not worshipped only when an examination is near, a business is stuck, marriage is delayed or some obstacle has appeared.

He stands at the beginning because before knowledge can enter, something inside us has to become ordered.

Our speech has to become ordered.

Our thinking has to become ordered.

Our intention has to become ordered.

And our ability to receive knowledge has to become ordered.

This is especially important for a student of Jyotish.

We spend years learning Grahas, Nakṣatras, Daśās, Yogas, Vargas and predictive rules. But the instrument through which all this knowledge is received, interpreted and finally spoken is our own Buddhi and Vāk.

If that instrument is disturbed, even correct rules can produce incorrect judgement.

This Ganesh Chaturthi, therefore, we are not conducting only another festival Puja.

We are creating a complete Gaṇapati Sādhana Anuṣṭhāna for students.

You will first learn the mantra.

Then you will chant it.

Then we will study what the mantra is actually saying.

And finally, on Ganesh Chaturthi, all registered participants will come together for the Śrī Gaṇapati Atharvaśīrṣa Mahā-Abhiṣeka, chanting the Atharvaśīrṣa collectively while the sacred Abhiṣeka is performed.

The true beginning of Jyotish is not the chart.

It is Dṛṣṭi — the capacity to see.

It is Buddhi — the capacity to understand.

And it is Vāk — the capacity to say only what should be said.

Therefore, before another year of predictions, consultations, teaching, writing and study begins, we invoke the one who stands at the doorway of Vidyā.

Śrī Mahāgaṇapati.

ॐ गं गणपतये नमः ॥

Why This Course?

Most people have heard the Gaṇapati Atharvaśīrṣa.

Many can even chant parts of it.

But very few students have been taught to stop and ask:

What is this text actually teaching?

Why does it call Gaṇapati Tattva?

Why does it call him Vāṅmaya — the very embodiment of speech?

Why does it call him Cinmaya — consciousness itself?

Why does the text speak about the five Mahābhūtas?

Why does it speak of the three Guṇas?

Why does it speak of the three states of consciousness?

Why does it specifically say:

त्वं मूलाधारस्थितोऽसि नित्यम् ॥

“You are eternally established in Mūlādhāra.”

Why does the text reveal the construction of the Gaṇapati Bīja?

And what is the meaning of these teachings for somebody studying Jyotish, mantra, karma, remedies and Vedic sciences?

These are the questions we will study during this programme.

Because the purpose is not simply to make you repeat Atharvaśīrṣa for seven days.

The purpose is that by the time you sit for the Mahā-Abhiṣeka on Ganesh Chaturthi, you should know what you are chanting.

No. ₹5,000 is the participation contribution for your Ganesh Chaturthi Puja, Sankalpa and Śrī Mahāgaṇapati Atharvaśīrṣa Mahā-Abhiṣeka. The seven chanting sessions and two commentary sessions are included for Puja participants without a separate teaching fee.

No. The purpose of the seven preparatory sessions is to help sincere participants become familiar with the text and chanting before Ganesh Chaturthi.

Yes. The programme will contain special Jyotish interpretation because many participants are students of Jyotish, but the principal Sādhana is centred upon Śrī Gaṇapati and the Atharvaśīrṣa. Anyone approaching the programme respectfully may participate.

The commentary will examine subjects such as Vāk, Buddhi, Ketu, Mūlādhāra, Pañca Mahābhūta, Kāla, mantra and Sankalpa from a Jyotish-oriented perspective. The aim is to show why Gaṇapati Upāsanā has a deeper relevance to the astrologer than simply being prescribed as a general remedy.

The special sessions will give an introductory understanding of the applied Vedic principles associated with mantra, Śānti, Sankalpa, protection, sacred sound and restoration of order. It will be taught traditionally and soberly, without sensationalising Atharva Vidyā as “magic.”

Registered participants will be asked to submit the traditional Sankalpa information required for the Puja. Full instructions will be shared after registration.

Yes. That is one of the main purposes of conducting seven preparatory chanting sessions. The final day is intended to become a collective Gaṇapati Atharvaśīrṣa observance, not merely a Puja that students watch.

Join the preparatory sessions sincerely. The purpose is learning and participation, not competition.
